Cancellation Watch: The Walking Dead and Once Upon A Time End Their Fall Runs Strong
ABC's Once Upon A Time ended its Fall run on a good note as well. Even though that show had slipped in the ratings a bit in early November, it is wrapping up the year with decent numbers, pulling a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demo and 9.1 million total viewers. The show returns for the second half of its season on January 6th and should continue to perform in about that same range. 666 Park Ave improved its numbers by one tick from the prior week as it pulled a 1.3 rating and just under four million total viewers on Sunday. That show, cancelled by ABC a few weeks ago, will return January 6th as well and finish out its thirteen episode commitment.
With the Fall season winding down, the Cancellation Watch column will go to just once a week starting next week and will resume its regular schedule again in January. Watch for the mid-season schedule of genre shows which will have the return dates for the shows currently airing and the premiere dates for the mid-season entries. And also watch for my mid-season preview which will give my updated cancellation predictions on the new and returning shows.
I will post the early returns for the Wednesday thru Friday genre shows at the Cancellation Watch Twitter Site, so keep an eye out there for those numbers. And you can see the Cancellation Alert status of all the shows currently airing plus the final results from prior seasons at my Cancellation Watch page. And for questions on how the ratings work and my Cancellation Alert statuses, you can see the Cancellation Watch FAQ.
